Privacy Policy

1. The Extension collects no data and makes no network requests

• The Extension runs entirely in your browser. It reads the conversation currently open on the page and writes a file to your computer. Nothing leaves your device.
• It makes zero network requests. Verify it: open DevTools → Network while exporting — you will see no requests from the Extension. Or search the source for fetch, XMLHttpRequest, WebSocket.
• It requests no permissions at install time — the Chrome permission dialog is empty. Optional capabilities (e.g. writing to a local Obsidian folder) are requested only when you explicitly enable them, never automatically.
• It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no “rate us” calls.
• Your conversations are never transmitted, stored by us, or seen by us. There is no server the Extension talks to.

2. What we receive when you buy Premium

Premium is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks convenience features. Buying happens on our website (owlary.com), not inside the Extension. When you purchase:

• Payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and seller. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
• We receive your email address and a transaction identifier in order to (a) generate and email you your license key, and (b) let you recover the key later. This is stored in our fulfilment system (Cloudflare) and used only for license delivery and support. We do not use it for marketing and do not sell or share it.
• Your license key is verified locally inside the Extension (an offline signature check). Activating Premium sends nothing to us.

3. Website analytics

Our website (owlary.com) may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count aggregate page views without identifying you and without tracking you across sites. This applies to the website only — never to the Extension.

4. Data we never collect

We never collect your conversations, prompts, messages, attached files, browsing history, or any content you export. None of it is technically reachable by us.

5. Third parties

• Paddle — payment processing as Merchant of Record. See Paddle’s privacy policy above.
• Cloudflare — hosts the fulfilment function and stores the email↔key record for delivery and recovery.

We use no advertising, profiling, or data-broker services.

6. Your rights

The only personal data we hold is your purchase email and transaction ID. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete it at any time — email support@owlary.com. Deleting your record removes our ability to re-send your key.

7. Children

The Extension is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
