Privacy Policy

1. The Extension collects no data and makes no network requests

• The Extension runs entirely in your browser. It reads the conversation currently open on the page and writes a file to your computer. Nothing leaves your device.
• It makes zero network requests. Verify it: open DevTools → Network while exporting — you will see no requests from the Extension. Or search the source for fetch, XMLHttpRequest, WebSocket.
• It declares access only to the three sites it runs on — chatgpt.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com — which the Chrome install dialog lists plainly. That access is used solely to read the conversation already open on your screen; it requests no cookies, tabs, auth tokens or identity. Optional capabilities (e.g. an offscreen document used purely to write the export file to your computer) are requested only when you turn on a feature that needs them, never automatically.
• It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no “rate us” calls.
• Your conversations are never transmitted, stored by us, or seen by us. There is no server the Extension talks to.

2. What we receive when you buy Premium

Premium is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks convenience features. Buying happens on our website (owlary.com), not inside the Extension. When you purchase:

• Payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and seller. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
• We receive your email address and a transaction identifier in order to (a) generate and email you your license key, and (b) re-issue it if you lose it. We keep no database of buyers: your key is generated on demand and is not stored anywhere on our side. The record of who purchased lives with Paddle, and recovery works by asking Paddle whether that email has a purchase and signing a fresh key on the spot. Your address is used only for license delivery and support — never for marketing, and it is never sold or shared.
• Your license key is verified locally inside the Extension (an offline signature check). Activating Premium sends nothing to us.

3. Website analytics

Our website (owlary.com) uses Umami, a cookieless analytics tool that we run on our own server — the numbers go to no third party. It counts aggregate page views. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses (it derives a rotating, non-reversible visitor hash instead), and it cannot track you across other sites. This applies to the website only — never to the Extension, which contains no analytics of any kind.

4. Data we never collect

We never collect your conversations, prompts, messages, attached files, browsing history, or any content you export. None of it is technically reachable by us.

5. Third parties

• Paddle — payment processing as Merchant of Record. See Paddle’s privacy policy above.
• Hetzner Online GmbH (EU) — the virtual server we rent to run this website and the fulfilment endpoint that signs license keys. Nothing about buyers is stored there.
• Resend — the email provider that delivers your license key to you.

We use no advertising, profiling, or data-broker services, and no third-party analytics.

6. Your rights

We keep no buyer database of our own. The personal data connected to your purchase — your email, transaction ID and billing details — is held by Paddle as Merchant of Record. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete it at any time and we will act on it with Paddle on your behalf — email support@owlary.com. Note that deleting your purchase record removes the only way we can re-issue your key; the key you already have keeps working offline regardless, because it is never checked against a server.

7. Children

The Extension is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
